The University of Konstanz (UKON) is one of the eleven universities in Germany that have earned a coveted designation in the federal government’s Excellence Initiative, which reflects the high caliber of the university’s teaching and research. UKON participates in the project through the Data Analysis and Visualization group (DBVIS) from the Department of Computer and Information Science. DBVIS is internationally renowned for delivering innovative and high-quality research. The group has built up expertise in the creation of visual analytics applications combining data analysis, visualization, visual analytics, and knowledge discovery methods for solving complex and very large-scale data analysis and visualization problems. In addition to theoretical and experimental studies, it has also extensive experience working with a number of well-known partners in industry.
